La Nomenklatur
- Un Recueil de la Nomenklatur
(CD, Les Nouvelles Propagandes)
La Nomenklatur
was a French Industrial band, existing from the mid of the 1980ies to
the mid of 1990ies. They have released several albums, "Un Recueil
de la Nomenklatur" is their last one with four tracks originally
released on the split LP Brume/La Nomenklatur (Méosta I-IV) and
seven tracks released before on compilations between 1988 and 1992.
Tiburce, the guy behind La Nomenklatur, also runs the more harsh project
Minamata.
The first two
tracks are computer compositions, which sound a little "romantic".
The typical La Nomenklatur sound starts with title 3, combining the
soft electronic soundscapes with a heavy drumming and a distorted voice.
In some titles the electronical background gets more weired, sometimes
it gets melodic even symphonic. In opposite to Minimata the voice is
rather used in a story-telling than in an agressive, shouting way. The
drums are often accentuated martially, sometimes reminding me of Test
Dept. As a lot of bands in the Industrial genre La Nomenklatur uses
different interesting samples. So all together it's a fine release with
a lot of good ideas within...
...but I don't
get "warm" with it. It's a typical underground product with
a more or less "poor" sound - not to compare with actual production
standards. Especially the synthetic trumpets cause tooth aches at me.
It's a sound so often heard and it's totally waisted. But when this
CD was released in 1996 there was no easy accessable software and no
electronical devices that sounded like natural. It's a bit pity because
this reduces the energy within the music but on the other hand it's
a document of its time. This is additionally illustrted in the kind
of artwork...
